The 60th Annual Appleton Flag Day Parade is dedicated to the FAMILIES of active Servicemen and Servicewomen of Wisconsin. The parade is scheduled for Saturday, June 12th in Appleton. The Flag Day Committee is inviting all family members of active Servicemen and Servicewomen to attend the Parade as a way of recognizing them.
The Appleton Flag Day Parade has achieved the honor of being recognized as the oldest Flag Day Parade in the nation. This year the parade will honor the United States and feature about 100 units displaying patriotic themes. The units will consist of veteran's organizations, scout troops, patriotic floats, decorated vehicles, walking units, along with Drum & Bugle Corps. See the line-up below.
The parade begins at 2 p.m. from Wisconsin Avenue and Oneida Street, heading west. At State Street, it turns left and proceeds south to College Avenue. At College, it turns left again and proceeds east to Drew Street, dispersing at City Park. A parade route map may be downloaded. WFRV-TV 5 will videotape the parade for re-broadcast in the Green Bay/Fox Cities area and on WJMN-TV 3 in Escanaba, MI.
